Magnedure 19mm MgO Subfloor Board

Magnedure 19mm MgO Subfloor Board

Magnedure is a high-performance subfloor board manufactured using advanced magnesium sulphate cement technology. Developed as a robust alternative to conventional fibre-cement and timber-based substrates, it combines non-combustibility, structural strength, moisture resistance and dimensional stability in one practical flooring panel.

Each board is reinforced with high-tensile glass-fibre mesh to deliver excellent rigidity and bending strength without the bulk of many traditional cement-based products. Magnedure can be cut and installed using standard carpentry tools and familiar construction methods, making it straightforward to specify and efficient to work with on site.

Specifications

Magnedure is manufactured using advanced BMSC (basic magnesium sulfate cementitious) chloride-free MgO technology.

Magnedure is supplied in two size of installation-ready panels:

1350 x 600 x 19mm; or

2700 x 600 x 19mm.

Weight (per sheet):
1350 sheet - 19.5kg
2700 sheet - 39 kg

Edge treatment: tongue & groove

It is intended for use as an interior flooring substrate, and is not intended to be left exposed.

Key Benefits

Fire Resistance: The mineral composition of Magnedure means it is non-combustible by nature, it will not ignite or contribute to a fire. Testing shows Magnedure meets the ASTM E136 requirement.

Strength: Engineered for flooring, the high density and excellent mechanical strength of Magnedure means a rigid floor that feels solid underfoot, and provides confidence in demanding applications.

Moisture Resistance: Magnedure resists moisture-related swelling, mould and rot, making it a reliable product in changing conditions.

Acoustic Performance: The density and rigidity of Magnedure make it ideally suited to high-performance acoustic floor assemblies, helping reduce vibration and unwanted sound transfer between spaces.

Simple to Install: Magnedure sheets can be cut, fixed and installed using familiar construction methods and appropriate tools.

Applications

Where Magnedure is Used

Magnedure suits a wide range of building types and framing systems. It can be used as a standalone subfloor or within an integrated acoustic floor assembly.

Residential Homes
New builds and renovations using timber or steel framing.

Multi-Unit Developments
Reliable performance across multiple tenancies where fire and acoustic requirements matter.

Mass Timber Construction
A non-combustible topping option for engineered timber floors.

Acoustic Floor Assemblies
Used as the structural substrate within SoundDown systems, combining strength and acoustic performance in one product.

Fire-Rated Floor Assemblies
Supports compliant fire-rated floor and ceiling systems.

Installation Overview

Simple. Familiar. No Specialist Trades Required.

Magnedure is installed using standard subfloor practices. It is fully compatible with existing construction workflows and requires no specialist equipment or trades.
